GalettesThese cookies are made with a special galette iron. If you don't have one, try a pizzelle iron. One reader tells us that even a waffle iron works fine.1 lb butter, melted 6 eggs 2 cups sugar 2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla or rum flavoring 1 teaspoon baking powder 6 cups flour
Sift flour and baking powder and mix in rest of ingredients. Chill dough. Drop spoonfuls on a pre-heated iron. Hold over hot stove and bake on each side for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes. 1-3 of 5 reviews Next >> Would make this again. My grandmother use to make these cookies every christmas. My mother and I continue the tradition to this very day. I am going to be moving in a few months and have yet to find a galette iron of my own. Does anyone have a galette iron they are willing to sale? Or know where i can find a Belgi galette iron? I highly reccomend these cookies for everyone. Also, for and extra sweet and pretty accent, try dipping half the cookie in chocolate. mmmm Would make this again. My Grandmother made these cookies for me when I was a little girl.
