Princess Gems1 cup shortening (half Crisco, half margarine)1/2 cup butter 2 cups sugar 2 teaspoons ammonium carbonate (ground finely) 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup grated angel flake coconut (packed) powdered sugar
Mix all ingredients together. Roll into small balls. Space apart a good distance on your cookie sheet (these really spread). Bake at 300 degrees (F) for 20 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar when cooled. 1-2 of 2 reviews Would make this again. why does my cookies bake flat and not stay in balls. Would make this again. I loved the tast of these Princess Gems, however some seemd very "crumbly" and hard to eat without getting crumbs all over. I will make them again, perhaps mixing longer and see if that improves this part. e
